My approach allows me to provide comprehensive and compassionate support tailored to each client’s unique needs. I integrate faith and mental health from a Biblically-informed perspective, helping clients use spiritual resources and evidence-based clinical techniques to overcome life’s struggles. Understanding your identity in Christ is crucial for well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

For the past five years, I have utilized CBT to help clients address and reframe intrusive thoughts and manage anxiety. By exploring the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we can challenge automatic negative thoughts and reduce stress and anxiety.

Couples Counseling

As a Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS) Facilitator, I guide pre-engaged, engaged, and newly married couples through a premarital assessment. This process helps address finances, expectations, personalities, communication, and mindset, setting a strong foundation for marriage.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Over the past four years, I have employed DBT to enhance clients’ lives by improving distress tolerance, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach helps reduce anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-harming behaviors.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT helps couples strengthen their emotional bonds by understanding attachment styles, improving communication, identifying negative patterns, and building empathy. Through EFT, couples can create a safe space and enhance their relationship.

No, they do not. One of the reasons is that “you” have to be sick, and not your relationship or marriage. However, if you have a “mental illness” affecting your relationship or marriage, the therapy you need can be deemed “medically necessary” for them to pay.

Self-paying for counseling offers several benefits. It provides greater privacy because your information isn’t shared with insurance companies, and offers more flexibility in choosing therapists without network restrictions. Additionally, it avoids insurance limitations on the number of sessions or types of therapy, and eliminates the need for pre-authorization and the risk of claim denials or reimbursement issues.
